Hiring a bike is a great way to have a look around Sanday, the largest of Orkney's North Isles. Bikes, including electric bikes, can be hired from the Community Shop in the village of Lady which is situated centrally on the island. One way of doing this is to take the ferry from Kirkwall to Sanday (Loth Harbour), catch the community bus that meets the ferry, and ask to be dropped off at the Community Shop (9 miles away), and picked up again for your return journey to Loth and on to Kirkwall.
Details are as follows:
Bike hire from the Community Shop - Click on the Sanday link on the right of this page and book your bike(s)
Community Bus - Book by call or text to 07513 084777 at least a day before you need picking up and ask to be dropped off at the Community Shop in Lady Village
